Gifts in Your Will

Gifts in Your Will

At the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge we firmly believe that, in planning your estate, it is important to first consider your family before any other gifts are considered. After your wishes for your family have been documented, then and only then would we ask that you consider adding a gift in your will for the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge.

If you choose to provide a gift in your will, we would be very honored and grateful. A planned gift to the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge will help further the mission of the museum to enrich the lives of children, inspiring them to learn, play and grow. Gifts can made in one of two ways, either 1) to our endowment at the East Tennessee Foundation, or 2) directly to the Children’s Museum. Please contact Beth Shea, Executive Director, at 865-482-1074 or  bshea@childrensmuseumofoakridge.org, to let us know of your gift and plan in either case. It is especially important that you contact us to discuss a gift if it involves a specific exhibit or program or if it is a donation such as artwork or other property. It is easiest for the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge to administer gifts that are unrestricted and that can be used for general needs for the advancement of programs and exhibits. Please note that, for certain types of donations such as real property or interest in a partnership type of business, the Children’s Museum may require indemnification against liability.
