Dick Smyser was the founding editor of the Oak Ridger newspaper. Part 1 took place on August 6, 1990; the 45th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. Alvin describes his concept of the sanctification of Hiroshima. The issue of nuclear waste is also discussed.
Part 2 includes discussions about technology transfer, some of Alvin’s community interactions, his proposed nuclear-powered agro-industrial complex, and administration of ORNL.
