How To Book a School Field Trip at Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge
To book a field trip, please complete the field trip request form. Once we receive your form, a Museum associate will contact you within two business days to confirm your date and provide you with more details. Completion of this form does not guarantee your trip is booked. Field trips are available Tuesday-Friday during normal operating hours (10 am – 4 pm).
Field Trip Scholarships
Thanks to our generous donors, a limited number of full or partial scholarships are available to Title 1 schools to cover student field trip admission fees. Please complete the field trip scholarship request form. Once we receive your form, CMOR’s Education Director will review your submission and a Museum associate will contact you.
Please note: Oak Ridge public schools are covered by a district grant given to the Children’s Museum for student admission fees. Talk to your school administrator for more information.
Upon Arrival…
– Enter through the main lobby
– Check in at the front desk to receive tour information and pay for the tour
– Tours of more than 20 people will need to be divided into smaller groups (see below)
– Coats may be left in the lobby
Tours usually take 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Please remember to complete an evaluation before leaving.
There is no eating or drinking in the Museum. Groups may leave the Museum to eat and then return, if needed.
For large groups visiting the museum, please divide up large groups into smaller ones. Download maps to start smaller groups off at different exhibits in the museum and follow the colored trail. We recommend using a landscape orientation for printing.
